Treasure Valley Family YMCA officials have looked southward to Meridian for a satellite campus to house a proposed pilot lifetime fitness project that would help stem a growing national health care crisis. Jim Everett, Treasure Valley Family YMCA president and chief executive officer, says the developers of Gramercy Village in central Meridian have donated a parcel of land within their subdivision for a new ?compact? center that would address school health and wellness needs. Plans call for a limited facility initially, with room for expansion to a full-fledged YMCA in the future that could include an aquatics center, climbing wall and youth activity center, if the community approved and helped fund it. First phase construction will be paid through private donations....

February 7, 2007 ? Gramercy, a 70-acre mixed-use development officially broke ground. Gramercy development is slated to include higher-density housing, multi-story office, supportive retail and restaurants. ?Gramercy is a place where one can wake up, have a morning cup of coffee with a friend, drop off their dry cleaning and head to work without ever getting into their car,? according to Joe Atalla of Tuscany Development, Inc. ?This is a community Meridian has been needing for some time now.? The ground breaking starts the construction of the infrastructure and roads with building construction starting this spring and summer with residential dwelling available early 2008.

June 27, 2006 ? Gramercy, Meridian?s first mixed-use community was approved by its City Council during their regularly scheduled meeting. This approval lays way for the development which is slated to include higher-density housing such as condominiums and brownstones; also included will be multi-story office, supportive retail, and restaurants. Gramercy will be located south of Overland Road between Eldorado Business Park and Mountain View High School.

May 4, 2006 ? Representatives from Tuscany Development, Inc. submitted plans to Meridian City Planning and Zoning. This 70-acre, mixed-use development named Gramercy is proposed for an area south of Overland Road between Eldorado Business Park and Mountain View High School.
