I can't help but think back to watching Little House on the Prairie and picturing “Doc Baker” calling on  the community of Walnut Grove when I see the store-front sign for Star Pharmacy, located in quaint Star, Idaho. And how refreshing….with the craziness of today you can find a locally-owned pharmacy that boasts all the knowledge and expertise of a big city chain, but  offers the experience of service, care and familiarity synonymous with small-town living.

At Heron River, we are excited to see the town of Star grow, while keeping the charm of locally-owned businesses and services that make it unique. And even though Star is but minutes from Eagle and Boise, you really feel like you get the added benefit of what small town living is all about.

So while out in Star, drop by Star Pharmacy and say hello to Pharmacists Heather Wolcott, Teresa Cole and on occasion Holly Webster.   You can get a prescription filled, pick up an over-the-counter remedy or just browse their gift shop. It’s the support of local businesses like these that will continue to keep Star that little someplace special in Idaho.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., at the City Council Meeting, the Meridian School District will be formally announcing the purchase of property for a Middle School and High School in Star. This is a very big deal. The City has worked for a long time to make this happen and the School District has worked diligently to find and acquire property in Star at the right price and the right location. Its finally happened. Children in elementary school and younger may actually be able to attend Middle or High School in Star. This is very important for our community. Imagine football games in Star track meets in Star High School Band practice in Star -

The dire headlines coming fast and furious in the financial and popular press suggest that the housing crisis is intensifying. Yet it is very likely that April 2008 will mark the bottom of the U.S. housing market. Yes, the housing market is bottoming right now.

This photo was taken by on-site agent, Ryan Kerfoot www.johnlscott.com/ryank , on Saturday, February 9th while conducting a site walk. While the Blue Herons were up in their nests, he counted a total of 18 of them. What a beautiful place to live.
